This house had six coats of paint from the past 85 years of its existence. While prep work as extensive as this is not entirely necessary, we wanted to make it look the best we could since it was the front view of the house. We scraped all the paint that would come off, then removed the rest with a heat gun . We filled it smooth with a quality exterior patching material, then sanded smooth , primed with a bonding primer, and painted with two coats of exterior satin finish paint. The fascia boards next to roof were also replaced, primed and painted.
